Waves 5 We spent the fifth safe period in the Primordial Land. Monsters periodically wandered toward our base camp and harassed us, but aside from that, nothing noteworthy happened. I didn’t sent out a search party, and unlike the group of knights from before, no survivors came looking for us on their own. Rip! And … Read more
Waves 4 Standing at that crossroads, the knight made an unexpectedly rational choice. “We will submit.” “…Huh?” He said it so readily that, for a moment, I wondered if I had misheard him. But I had heard him correctly. “The nineteen members of this 4th Company have made efforts in various ways to rejoin the … Read more
Waves 3 We spent the fourth safe period in the Beasts’ Den on the second floor. Despite the slight stench, it was actually a fairly good place to rest. Firstly, it was one of the lower floors. The entities there were weak, so a priest’s Destruction of Evil was enough to keep most of the … Read more
Waves 2 The dimensional collapse event was already brutal enough, but the narrow terrain only made it worse. A limited surface area meant there was a limit to how many people could fight at once. Once the group exceeded a hundred explorers, those on the edges were liable to misstep and get thrown into another … Read more
Waves 1 The beginning of the fourth wave went smoothly. We were dropped into one manageable battlefield after another, and since there were hardly any moments where dangerous monsters piled up in large numbers, we managed to reach what seemed to be the middle-to-late stage of the wave without any major incidents. Return 4 Tear of the Goddess. This was the very item that had played a decisive role in defeating the rank 5 monster, the Vampire Duke Cambormere, when I was just a basic barbarian. In truth, though, this item was not something that should have been wasted on a mere rank 5 monster. The only … Read more
Return 3 Monsters were pouring in like a flood. However, perhaps my prayers to the ancestral god had been answered, as we had not encountered a single rank 1 monster yet. One rank 2 monster appeared, but we were well matched against it and took it down without suffering any real damage. Aynar had played … Read more
Return 2 The moment Aynar used Restrained Wish, the shattered gem burst like fireworks and scattered clusters of light. Then… Nothing. Shhhh… As the glowing particles faded and their colors drained away, Aynar, who had been staring blankly into space, slowly came back to her senses. “Ugh…?” “So you’re back.” “B-Bjorn…?” “Pull yourself together and … Read more
Return 1 “Snrrrk… Huff…” Before the dimensional collapse started again, I woke up Aynar, who was lying on the ground fast asleep. “Aynar.” “…Bjorn?” “Stop sleeping and get up. We have something to do.” “Ugh… I don’t know what it is, but let me sleep a little longer.” “I said get up.” “…A-Alright! I’ll get … Read more
Ups and Downs(5) After returning to the group, we held a simple funeral for Carlson. Calling it a funeral would be an exaggeration. In reality, it was little more than cremating his body at the priests’ suggestion. Aynar objected at first, insisting that she wanted to return his remains to his family. “The choice is … Read more
